Following the emerging international response to the novel coronavirus, and the fact that colleagues from 36 countries were scheduled to attend to present on their winning projects, CTBUH has postponed the 2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference. Instead, the fantastic programming of the CTBUH Awards Program will now be incorporated into the CTBUH 2020 Singapore & Kuala Lumpur Conference, taking place 19–23 October at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This means that the presentation and judging of contending projects, as well as the Awards Ceremony & Dinner, will take place in Singapore. Questions? Contact

2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference

The annual CTBUH Tall + Urban Innovation Conference explores and celebrates the very best in innovative tall buildings, urban spaces, building technologies, and construction practices from around the world. Incorporating what was previously known as the CTBUH Annual Awards event, this conference sees the owner/developers, design, and engineer teams for 50+ Awarded projects present in front of an international audience and live juries for winning distinctions across several award categories.

The event brings to Chicago, the home of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, a critical cross-section of tall building owners, developers, occupiers, operators, designers, engineers, and builders—along with the interested public—to investigate the cutting edge in sustainable urbanism, presented by the world’s foremost examples.

Join us and explore what’s on the horizon for dense vertical cities of the future!

Program Structure

The conference includes numerous tracks of programming, where the project teams for each Awarded project will present to an international audience and the live juries for consideration of overall titles across 21 Award categories.
